Sonya Bria lives in Arizona. She is a science fiction and fantasy enthusiast, and also a hopeless romantic. She puts those elements together in her writing.  

About Sonya

Relatively shy, many of my early adolescent years were spent voraciously reading, filling countless journals, and creating stories centered around my character Kate Archer, archaeologist. I was a high school corespondent for the Davis Reflex Journal and part of the literary and yearbook staffs my senior year. I had big plans to become a journalist and move to Chicago. However, life threw me a couple of curve balls and plans changed.

Fast forward to the Summer of 1994: I  married a dashing fellow and started off on an adventure of my own. 18 years, five moves, three beautiful daughters, and two dogs later, I have finally found my voice.

In the Summer of 2009, I finished writing my first young adult book, Harmony. As luck would have it though, a crashed hard-drive and unrecoverable data set me back. Fortunately, I am old school and had a printed first draft that I was able to recreate Ian and Sophie's story.  It has been a wonderful journey and I hope you join me as the story unfolds. Enjoy!

Hobbies

 I admit it, I totally dig Twilight, Vampire Diaries, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer; I love the characters, and hey, that Edward is not bad either. It's been just a part of my motivation for writing. But I love romance and history too. Harmony is such a great combination of the things I'm passionate about. I can't wait to share it with my readers.

I also enjoy cooking, gardening, reminiscing about the 1980s, and have participated in a few local community theater productions with my family.

My family keeps me otherwise occupied, and with three girls  a husband, and two dogs to take care of, that's no surprise. We love doing things together, both at home and traveling on the road. Maybe the girls will become their own traveling TV drama one day and I can share that too.

Education

I graduated from Purdue University in 1998 with a degree in Sociology and minor in English. More recently, I graduated in 2011 with a masters in Secondary Education with an emphasis on English from University of Phoenix.

Harmony is the latest creation of Sonya Bria. Destinies are forged and new love blossoms as an old Irish legend come to life bringing Sophie and her vampire protector Ian together in a fantastical journey in righting the wrongs of the past.
